Tour description: Glass-Bottom Boat
A glass-bottom boat is the simplest and most accessible way to discover the underwater world of Sharm El Sheikh. Specially fitted glass or perspex in the hull turns the floor into a window: fish swim directly beneath your feet, corals grow all around, and sea urchins creep across the seabed. All of this without getting wet, without a mask, without any physical effort.
The trip lasts 2-3 hours, cruising along the most beautiful reefs in the bay. A guide narrates the marine life as you go. Children absolutely love it: they literally stand over the fish and can observe them up close. A wonderful option for a first sea experience or a great addition to a beach day.
There is nothing special to bring. Comfortable, light clothing. Trips run in the morning and afternoon.

We booked this excursion for my mother - she's 68 and not keen on getting in the water. What a great choice! You can see the corals and fish through the glass bottom right from your seat. Surprisingly beautiful - vivid corals and fish of every colour imaginable. The hour flew by. For those who don't swim, or for families with young children, this is the perfect way to experience the underwater world without getting wet.
I took the evening trip - it's fascinating to watch how the underwater activity changes as the light fades. The glass is spotless, visibility excellent. The fish come right up to the glass, as if they're used to the boat. The reefs are beautiful, the corals healthy and vibrant. A short trip - about an hour - but a rich one. Pairs nicely with a beach day. Well worth it as a holiday extra.
