The most complete Cairo experience available from Sharm El Sheikh: a short flight, the Giza Pyramids, and the Grand Egyptian Museum - the world's largest single-civilisation museum, opened after 20 years of construction. For the first time in history, the entire treasure of Tutankhamun is displayed in one place: more than 5,000 artefacts discovered in his tomb in 1922. The golden sarcophagus, war chariot, jewellery, board games, musical instruments - all presented together under perfectly calibrated lighting.
The flight from Sharm El Sheikh takes just 50–60 minutes. Your guide meets you at Cairo airport and takes you straight to the Giza Plateau. After the pyramids, you head to the Grand Museum. From its windows and terrace, the three great pyramids are visible in the distance - a contrast of ancient wonder and contemporary design that no photograph can fully convey. The day ends with a buffet lunch at an Egyptian restaurant.

We'd had our hearts set on the new museum ever since we saw it on TikTok - and in person it blew our expectations completely. The halls are enormous, the exhibition design is on another level, and everything feels immaculately curated. The pyramids were a world of their own, of course. The flight was quick, the whole day was brilliantly organised, and we didn't feel exhausted the way you do after a long coach journey. Our guide kept explanations clear and punchy. Absolutely delighted with the trip.
We went back and forth between the old museum and the new one - no regrets whatsoever choosing this tour. Everything looks contemporary and stunning; even just walking through the galleries is a pleasure. We had plenty of time at the pyramids, no rushing. What I appreciated most was the complete absence of any sense of chaos or pressure - everything flowed calmly and comfortably. For a first visit to Cairo, this is the ideal format. We came home with a camera full of photos and heads full of memories.
Chose the plane option - and it was absolutely the right call. We saved a huge amount of time and arrived in Cairo feeling fresh rather than exhausted. Straight from the tarmac to the pyramids, then on to the Grand Museum. The museum is jaw-dropping - contemporary architecture standing right next to 3,000-year-old artefacts. The view of the pyramids from the museum windows genuinely made me catch my breath. Our guide was professional and managed to cover everything thoroughly. Thoroughly recommend this format.
Flying to Cairo is a completely different quality of experience. No five-hour drives each way, no arriving at the pyramids already worn out. We landed fresh, saw the pyramids, explored the Grand Museum, and flew home. The Grand Museum is staggering - vast, intelligently laid out, and the complete Tutankhamun collection brought together for the very first time. Well worth the extra cost. If you value your time and energy, the plane is the only sensible choice.

Cairo by Plane with the Grand Egyptian Museum is our flagship tour - designed for those who want to experience Egypt at the very highest level. The short flight from Sharm El Sheikh saves both time and energy, and the Grand Museum right beside the pyramids sets an entirely new benchmark for what a day in Cairo can be.
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) opened after two decades of construction to become the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilisation. For the first time, the complete collection of Tutankhamun is housed together: more than 5,000 artefacts, the majority of which the public has never seen before. The golden sarcophagus, war chariot, funerary beds adorned with gilded goddesses, hundreds of pieces of jewellery - all displayed in one gallery under perfect lighting with detailed explanatory panels.
After the museum, the Giza Pyramids are just two kilometres away. You step out of a strikingly modern building and see on the horizon silhouettes that have stood for 4,500 years. That juxtaposition of eternity and modernity is one of the most powerful impressions of the entire trip.
This tour runs year-round. Flights typically depart on Mondays and Thursdays - book 3–5 days in advance to secure your preferred date.
An Egyptian visa is mandatory for this tour (a Sinai-only stamp is not sufficient). The Grand Museum interior is cool - bring a light jacket. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as there is a fair amount of walking at Giza and inside the museum. No liquids in hand luggage at the airport.
Technically yes, but it makes for an extremely intense day. We recommend choosing one museum and giving it the time it deserves.
Choose the Grand Museum if it is your first time in Cairo: it is spacious, logically laid out, and has the complete Tutankhamun collection. The National Museum is better for those who love atmosphere and the charm of a century-old historic building.
